Sara Nisenholtz, J.D.
Sara Nisenholtz hopes for a day when mediation is the norm and litigation is the alternative.
Sara is a professionally trained mediator and a non-practicing California attorney with a strong commitment to making divorce easier for couples. She specializes in helping clients achieve mutually beneficial agreements that align with their personal family and financial situation. Sara helps couples progress through the cumbersome process of divorce by helping them overcome obstacles and conflict by focusing on the future.

Sara holds a law degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law, and received her 40-Hour Family and Divorce Mediation Training Certificate from the Mosten Guthrie Academy. She further enhanced her expertise with advanced training in family law mediation through New Day Divorce, including specialized courses in the "5-Step System: California Divorce Mediation" and "Core Competencies When Mediating the Division of Marital Assets."

In addition to her private practice at Mediation By Sara, Sara provides family and divorce mediation services at Price Mediation, the Lamoreaux Justice Center, and the Long Beach Courthouse. She also volunteers as a Family Law Voluntary Settlement Conference Mediator at the Lamoreaux Justice Center and has provided pro bono services for the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law. Sara has a history of training volunteer mediators and coordinating case assignments at Orange County Human Relations (Groundswell).

While Sara is a licensed attorney, she has chosen not to offer traditional legal services, focusing instead on mediation and legal document preparation. Her approach helps clients navigate family law matters with less stress, time, and cost, fostering more amicable resolutions that prioritize self-determination and a better “divorce story.”
